Biollante is the spawn of a rosebud, some Godzilla cells, and some cells from Dr. Shiragami's daughter, Erica. He injected them into the rose, trying to make her soul live on within it. Unfortunately, the Godzilla cells came in and the rose mutated to Biollante's larval/rose form. Then it grew into the fully grown Biollante, which fought off Godzilla viciously. Biollante is one of the largest foes in the known Godzilla universe.
